Want to explore Amsterdam in an unique way? That’s possible by horse drawn carriage! Holland Carriage Tours organizes bespoke trips by horse drawn carriage for indivuals, groups and businesess. Take a trip through Amsterdam from the comfort of our beautiful and unique London Omnibus (double-decker carriage), built in 1890. You will view the capital city from a whole new pespective! Even for longstanding local habitants this is a wonderful experience. Our trips are usually organized for 15 to 17 people, but we can also arrange trips for larger groups as we have several carriages available. Holland Carriage Tours is more than a trip by horse and carriage. During the trip we make several stops where you can enjoy the traditional dutch food and drinks.

The London Omnibus

The Omnibus, which owes its name to the dative plural of the Latin “omnis” meaning “all”. By the 1860s a few daring ladies had ventured onto the upper-deck seats, and ‘modesty’ or ‘decency’ boards were fixed to obscure the view of the ladies ankles from below. Eventually these boards were used for advertising.

HORSES

The carriage is pulled by Gelderlander carriage horses. The Royal Warmblood Horse Netherlands ( KWPN ) . The Gelderlander is distinguished in particular by a welcome occurrence and an honest, trustworthy and willing character.
